Each MYP subject is assessed against four criteria (labelled A, B, C, D), each scored from 0 to 8. For example, in Sciences the criteria are: Knowing and Understanding (A), Inquiring and Designing (B), Processing and Evaluating (C), and Reflecting on the Impacts of Science (D). The criterion-based assessment prepares them for DP's internal assessments and the extended essay. The Personal Project mirrors the extended, self-directed work required in DP. ATL skills are five categories of transferable skills that MYP explicitly teaches: Thinking, Communication, Social, Self-Management, and Research skills. These are assessed alongside subject content and are crucial for academic success.
